Torquay Photos updated daily by Pollock - Click on the pics to supersize
I've just had an extremely pleasant tour of your area by surfing backwards and looking at your former posts. You live in a very delightful town, close to the sea. Lucky you. Now I must learn a little more about your town. Have a good week!
You mentioned the few boats that still fish from Torquay. Is it because the area has been overfished or fished out?It sure is a nice photograph.Abraham LincolnAmerican Gold Finch—
Most fishing is concentrated out of Brixham harbour which is two miles across the bay from us. They have a large fishquay with processing facilities available however a few trawlers do still fish out of Torquay. One sad thing is the lack of fresh fish available to buy down here. Even though Brixham is the largest fishing port in the south of England, most of the catch is immediately sold on to major supermarket chains. So the fish takes a 250 mile trip to London to be sold & processed, it is then sent back down here and appears pre-packed in the major superstores - three days old.It is quite sad as nothing beats a nice freshly caught fish for tea.

Fishing is also one of the living in our place and I can really appreciate eating fresh fish! They are yummier than those you can buy in supermarkets that are frozen..
The nets look a bet messy but surely it's a good photo. Sad to hear about the fish. Hope everything will fine, fresh fish is great.
