9th - Embarkation Ramps


The Bay Princess leaving for a tour of the bay. In the background you can see Torquay's latest piece of modern art, a white ring circling the harbours edge. You can also see the grade II listed embarkation ramps, which were used during World War II by American troops heading for the D Day Normandy landings.

I like the photo this morning. Also enjoyed the narrative as it involved the D-Day invasion.
